BACKGROUND

Yoite's apart of an elite ninja clan called the Kairoshu, working directly in the sub-division of Suikō-han. Even though Yoite's only sixteen, he's one of the most powerful members because he possesses the ability to perform "Kira." The technique is considered forbidden because it chips away at the users life force. When Yoite was first brought into Kairoshu, his body was that of a child's. It was Hattori Tojuro that had saved him from an untimely death in the snow, found with a slash across his neck and left to bleed to death. Young Yoite led a small and miserable life, before being brought into the world of Nabari. His Mother died giving birth to him, so his Father and step-children loathed Yoite's existence. One night, they took a knife and sliced him across the neck, right in front of his step brother Tsukasa's eyes. Yoite ran out of the house and collapsed near the street, where Hattori found him.

He was taken to a private hospital where he met Kazuho Amatatsu and she fixed up his wound. When he was feeling better, Hattori gave him the option to live with him, in the world of Nabari, where he would be trained as a ninja. He studied the forbidden Kira kijitsu and moved into Kazuho Yukimi's apartment. He was to become apart of Yukimi's team, known as Suiko-han.

Over the course of three days and now in Hattori's protective care, Yoite's bones reconstructed and grew to the size of a teenager. Now standing at 5'9" and about 100 pounds, clad in a black trench coat, they were given a mission. Their objective was to gather five well-hidden ninja scrolls, gain possession of the Shinrabansho and use it to reconstruct civilization - both the "front world" (the real world) and the world of Nabari (the ninja
world.)

In canon, one of Suiko-han's main targets becomes Miharu Rokujo, a fourteen year old boy who happened to be the human reincarnation of the Shinrabansho located inside of him. Yoite was instructed to capture him alive and bring him back to Hattori, but the Banten ninjas intervened. Of his own accord, Yoite kidnapped Miharu and took him captive to an abandoned train car in the middle of a bamboo forest. It was there Yoite proposed a proposition - once Miharu gathered all of the scrolls, Miharu was ordered to report back to Yoite and use the Shinrabansho to grant his wish of non-existence. Yoite didn't want to die, but rather wanted to have his existence completely erased, so no one would remember him ever being born. If Miharu refused, he'd kill his friends and his family to better influence Miharu's decision making.

Since Miharu shows an indifferent face to the world, he agreed to Yoite's proposition and throughout the series, spends time searching for and gathering various kinjitsu scrolls with various run-ins when Banten and Fuma ninjas also looking for the scrolls. Towards the end of the series, Miharu becomes friends with Yoite and also becomes one of his greatest emotional support systems. Yoite starts having his personality develop, as he learns to trust and confine in Miharu. They betray Kairoshuu, steal what scrolls they have and try to outrun the Kasa ninjas ordered to exterminate Yoite and retrieve the scrolls and Miharu, so that Hattori can use them to reawaken the Shinrabansho and change the world.
